"Just Vote For the Bitch"

That's the slogan printed on T-shirts, buttons and bumper stickers promoting the candidacy of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton. Perhaps I have finally turned into the much-criticized humorless feminist, but I am nothing but disgusted by this. Can you imagine Edwards T-shirts that say "Just Vote For the Faggot"? Or how about Obama T-shirts that say "Just Vote For the Terrorist"? If you can, your imagination is the only place you'll see these shirts. Because to print them would be offensive, yes?

It's difficult to believe these people are promoting Hillary Clinton. Seems like the other way around. Where did you find them?

I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:

www.americanlegends.info

If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.

Thanks,
David

Pinky, these buttons and shirts are on a number of liberal sites. I must have seen them on 3 or 4 different ones.

David, your blog is a good one, but the only sport that is relevant to The Dees Diversion is women's tennis, and that is because I sneaked it in out of compulsion.

I appreciate your kind comment.

I would see it as mocking sexism, too, if I believed the people who made up the slogan were that hip. My gut tells me they aren't, and I hope I'm wrong.

Of course, now I have to ask myself: Where is this instinct coming from? And the only answer I can give is that none of the other slogans on shirts on any of these sites is hip or ironic. They are, in fact, rather mundane, or even stupid.

Context is everything. Again, I hope I'm wrong.
