There is nothing wrong with killing seals as long as you don't waste the food or skins and as long as you leave enough alive for next season. Thinking seals have feelings is stupid. They are dumb animals and nothing more. The babies don't even feel it when their skin comes off. Get real.
In the 18th Century, "scientists" "proved" to people that no fully alive animal ever felt any pain, regardless of whether it was stabbed, strangled, shot, electrocuted, or beaten. We know, of course, that these "scientists" wanted a gullible populace to not complain when they experimented on live dogs, cats, rabbits, etc.
Now we see a slightly different version of this "proof." Seals are sentient. There is no reasons at all to ever kill them.
As for dumb animals...readers can make their own decision about someone who supports cruelty, insults the poster, and cannot even post a comment under the corresponding blog post.
Yup, Mark is not the sharpest pencil in the box. He probably tortured animals as a child for kicks. Perhaps he hunts. Why is he even here? He certainly has never loved an animal, or he would understand that they all have their own thoughts and feelings and sense of self.
But speaking of Friday cat blogging, you're fortunate to have so much assistance with the dust mop. The only chore my kitties care for is laundry. They especially like to help us put fresh sheets on the bed. With their help, it takes three times as long, but at least it's more fun too. -L
I like bonsai cats myself. There is a photo at http://l.pixelcube.hu/content/bonsai_kitten.png of some really cute kitties who are being raised in jars. You should try it yourself because they are a lot less trouble than regular cats.
