Just boys having some fun
I can think of few things more disgusting than the rape and sexual assault of females. But, as Pinko Feminist Hellcat points out, there really is something more disgusting--the tacit approval of rape and sexual assault, and the blaming of victims. The cases presented here remind me, yet again, how outrageously irresponsible so many parents are, and how scornful our culture is of females.
In my practice, I frequently hear of girls being sexually (and physically) assaulted, and their parents do nothing, sometimes because "she didn't want me to." The schools do nothing, and often, the police do nothing, but many parents do not even bother to go to the police, or--if they do--they do not demand justice.

My friend's daughter was sexually abused by a family member. I begged my friend to go to the police but she didn't want her baby traumatized by the police and so he got away with it for a few more years, but his last victim, well, her mother not only went to the cops, when they didn't get there soon enough to arrest him, she shot him, right in the groin. Yep, sure did and while I told my friend not to blame herself, it was her fault, it might have been avoided. I have to say, though, he got what he deserved and I was happy to hear that the shot took off the very member that had caused such pain to two little girls that we know of. I suppose women don't call the cops for a lot of reasons, probably more out of not adding trauma to the child. Is that the right thing? No, it isn't, but getting questioned by a police officer, a social worker, and then going to court and facing him or her and a defense team, well, you have to admit, what mother wants her daughter or son to endure that?

People not going to the police because they fear that the police will do nothing or will blame the victim is one thing. But most of the people I see do not go to the police because their daughters ask them not to, or because they just "didn't get around to it."
