The nestlings are growing fast
They no longer just stick their heads out, with their mouths open. Now they stick their heads out and look around. They also have pretty markings, which they did not have just a few days ago.

WE have these little birds who build mud nests on the side of our garage and we leave them and let them build and rebuild. The only sad thing is we can't use that side of the house for a while. The parents do this dive and peck. I don't mind to share the space. Your babies are so cute. One year a mockingbird built a nest in a hanging basket and after a really bad storm, I found a naked baby lying near on the ground, I put the baby back into the basket and one day, I noticed one of the mockingbird babies was more red and not anything like a mockingbird, well, I guess the mother mockingbird was either color blind, or didn't care, because she fed that red cardinal just like her own little screamers. I watched them to make sure that the little red bird was getting equal treatment and it did and one day, just like it's foster sibblings, it, too, flew the nest.

Yes, we are thoroughly enjoying watching them grow and watching the parents hold loud and lengthy "conferences" about them.
Zelda, that is a great story! It all takes place right outside our bay window.
