Macy's shows its true colors, and they aren't in the rainbow

Let's talk about values: Macy's values. Because the way I see it, a few bigots have to be given prompt respect, but an entire city of gay people, bisexual people, and non-ignorant people cannot be given any respect.

Macy's Downtown Crossing store in Boston displayed two mannequins in its window--two male figures, one of which was wearing a gay pride flag wrapped around its waist, or "skirt" as one of Boston's less enlightened citizens called it. Members of Mass Resistance (formerly Article 8 Alliance), a known organization of bigots, objected to the display and Macy's took it down. Mass Resistance, however, will not be happy until Macy's also takes down the Gay Pride Week calendar of events.

A Macy's spokeswoman said "We believe in diversity, and our customers are very important to us. But [the display] did offend a few of our customers, and we had to reexamine it."
