Chicago bans foie gras

In a major victory for farm animals, the Chicago City Council has voted to ban the sale of foie gras with Chicago city limits.

Chicago now joins the state of California (sort of) and the European Union (with a huge protest from France) in banning production and/or sale of foie gras.

I'm so glad to know how they make the liver so large, while at the same time, disgusted that another attempt to feed man's lust of taste has driven us to the cruelest of ways to get what they want. I will, and not in a low voice either, let the waiters know that I find their establisment disgusting for selling such a cruelly obtained food. Of course, recently, when I asked a waiter were their chicken free range, he said sure, and then I asked to speak to the chief and he said they were from Tyson and my family and I got up and left. So, the waiters don't always know, you need to ask the chief.
