Sorting out the war heroes

This man may go to prison for deserting during the Vietnam era. This man, who wouldn't even go to Alabama, much less Vietnam, laughs while his supporters wear Purple Heart adhesive bandages because this man fought in Vietnam.

Got it?

I served there and the only thing I cared about then was getting back alive and in one piece.

Yes, but you probably could spare the time from getting drunk and sailing in New England with your wealthy father.

Norwegian Liberal, I am your brother. I, too, served there, and, yes, my only concern was coming home upright. Unfortunately, my insignificant return was interpreted as some sort of inveterate weakness, and I've been subliminally punished for it for the last 36 years. This is a country worth sending our children to fight for?

Well, it doesn't matter, we'll just send the less-well-to-do Merikens... they'd probably just end up as drug addicts or postal workers if we didn't save them from a life of liberal sin and iniquity.
