Quote of the day

George W. Bush, on whether Laura Bush would ever run for the Senate: "She's not interested in running for office. She's interested in literacy."

God knows she has her work cut out for her on the homefront, and so far, she hasn't proven to be much of a literacy teacher. She also has some issues with spelling, and then there's that pesky problem of not reading enough to have a clue about what is going on in the world.

Let's see if I have this right... she ostensibly teaches literacy while she neither takes the time to learn to spell nor reads enough to understand the issues a teacher might need to confront. Does that about sum it up? If so, then she's a sure-fire, can't-miss presidential candidate, isn't she?

Let's see... Red-stater, not so beautiful as to look like a floozie, has access to zillions of dollars, doesn't try to think for herself too much... yep, she's the perfect candidate.

You know, I normally leave Laura Bush alone, but her statement in Africa was so offensive, it made me crazy.

And the news media has been totally silent about it, as well as members of Congress.

Excellent point!
