Mary J. Blige spreads common falsehood about PETA

Fur-wearing singer Mary J. Blige recently said: "Those PETA people don't want to mess with me, they don't want to throw paint on my coat..."

PETA condemns all vandalism, including the throwing of paint on someone's fur coat. It is not PETA members who do that.

Personally, I would like to see paint thrown in her face.

There is a woman in my writer's group. She has a collection of animal furs that were left to her by her grandmother. One is a monkey fur. I told her she was wearing our cousins. Every time she wears one of these furs, I have to remind her hos wrong it is and how the poor animals were killed just so she could have a coat. She actually gets a little offended by my remarks, but a primate skin?

She is probably one of those people who doesn't want to know how she got her furs. People will tell you "I don't want to know!"

Because really, they already do know. What they are saying is: I don't want to connect my behavior with this atrocity.

Not only should Blige get a can o' latex tossed at her, but so should J. Lo and J.Crew.

They're just awful, awful people.

Don't forget the Williams sisters, who wear fur practically everywhere they go these days.
