Yeah, stay safe...I was in Baton Rouge last fall when what's-his-name was supposed to come. Went through Alabama instead, but the traffic sure was a mess!
I have family in Alex. if you need a place to stay...
Kathy, that was a very nice offer. We aren't far away--we're in Bunkie. It took some doing to get a room, but we're at the Bailey Hotel. Roxie and Velma were such good cats the whole 6-hour trip (you can imagine what that was like). When we got here, Velma left her carrier to get into Roxie's and they've been there ever since.
As I'm sure you know, there is a Bailey Hotel in Alexandria; I've stayed there before--very nice. I'm pretty sure this one is somehow connected to that one, though I can't find anything about it in the official history.
A professor Zanga stayed here in 1925. He was a seer and clairvoyant. In his honor, the cocktail lounge is named Zanga's.

DED, it's nice to hear that you're safe. If you get tired of your digs where you're at and feel like heading to Missouri, we've got room.

The Bailey Hotel...gotta check that one out! Glad they took you and your kitties in. I worry about the rest of the animals in NO, though.
