I see you are able to fit two cats on your lap. If I could do this, there would be less tension in my household. One of my cats is 24 pounds. He is heavy enough to put my butt to sleep after a few minutes on my lap, and his back end must be propped with my left arm. I do this because he is such a sweet boy, and he seeks lap time only occasionally. The other is a mere 17 pounds, not too bad in the lap on his own. 41 pounds of kitty on my lap at one time, however, even if they are reasonably cooperative, is impossible. Sigh. You are fortunate indeed.
My cat's together weighed less than Anonymous's smaller cat!!
DED, your kitties are so pretty! (Great names, too.) I am working on convincing the Dingo's daddy that we really, really need cats in our lives again. Maybe I'll show him this picture. =)
We do, seriously, need a bigger bed. The 24-pounder (his name is Fang) is an unrepentant blanket hog. And they say he was the runt of the litter. Roxie and Velma are lovely. I enjoy your blog very much.
Thanks to both of you. Roxie and Velma are sisters, a year and 8 months old, and real characters. Velma (the tortie) is large, and--for the most part--well-behaved. Roxie is a small, wiry, and destructive. She has broken so many things, I can no longer keep count. Some have been repaired, but most are smashed to bits. I keep hoping she will mature.

That's my husband's lap. Roxie is small; Velma is a pretty good-sized cat. Your cats, however, are huge.
