The good news: boys and girls getting equal treatment

The bad news: That treatment is abusive.

I saw on another message board that is frequented by young adults that a female porn star had raped a 15-year-old boy. Though there were a few "what boy wouldn't want that?" replies, there were many more posters who said it couldn't be rape because the boy went with the woman voluntarily. They are having trouble understanding that a minor does not have the maturity to make such decisions, and that minors are exploited by adults who sexually abuse them.

We have always heard these arguments with regard to girls--"he didn't force her, she wanted to be with him." Now, it appears, we will also hear them with regard to boys, at least boys who are sexually abused by women. Something tells me the response would be very different if the porn star had been male.

What in hell are parents teaching their children?
