FEMA not concerned about due process--big surprise

After Katrina destroyed New Orleans' criminal court facility, judicial and law enforcement authorities hurried to build a temporary court across the river. They were prevented from doing so by FEMA, who told them not to worry--a new court would be built shortly.

There is still no court, and to keep from violating the due process rights of defendants, city authorities will soon be setting those defendants free. FEMA has cited "delays" as the reason for not getting the court facility built.
