Snuggling with the sister was the best way to endure hotel life

Please remember that thousands of other pets were not as lucky as Roxie and Velma. Their humans abandoned them, or were forced by federal officials to leave them behind. Please continue to call, email, and fax your Congresspeople so that pets can be removed from houses now. Many are dead, and the rest have little time left.

My sister just called me this morning to tell me she had just adopted a dog brought up from a shelter in Louisiana to Cincy. Every animal that is taken up north and adopted opens up a space in the local shelters for the rescued pets.

So that's something else people can think about doing.

Diane, I just heard a CNN reporter say that people could take their pets now when they are evacuated. Is that true?

Still doesn't take care of the thousands left there already, but I'm glad to see someone finally wake up and realize if they want to get people out, they have to take their pets too.

At least I hope they have...

Yes, see my update. It was the first act of business after Brown got the boot. I hope that now they will finally go into the emptied out houses and look for pets, too. There is a lot of pressure on them to do so. Only they had better do it quickly--many of those animals are already dead. And people can say what they want about PETA--PETA led the way on this.

andif--you are absolutely right.

Thanks for the update.

And here's what I want to say about PETA: They fight the good fight.
