Conservative activist judge blames victim for sex abuse

Remember Ohio Judge W. Duncan Whitney, the guy who issued the restraining order against the Green Party and the Libertarian Party when they were trying to get an Ohio recount?

Well, not content to obstruct free elections, Whitney has expanded his judicial skills to blaming minor females for the sexual abuse perpetrated against them. In his latest decision, Whitney has sentenced a juvenile prison guard to sixty days in jail, to be served on weekends after the guard enjoys his family vacation. The perpetrator could have gotten eighteen months, but Whitney gave him a light sentence because of his remorse and the girl's consent.

Dear democracy-bashing misogynistic pox on the judicial system Whitney: 16-year-old girls are minors and do not "give consent" to sexual abuse, and especially to sexual abuse performed by a prison guard when they, the girls, are prisoners.

Of course they gave consent. They have vaginas in a patriarchal society--that constitutes as 'consent'. Unfortunately in the minds of some guys (especially ones with power) that really does count as giving consent for being a guy's sex-toy. What a wonderful society and government we have. /bitter-sarcasm

Ah the problem is that in Ohio, like Kansas, 14 is the age of consent - just ask Steve Carter who is more concerned that medicaid recipients may have been examined for yeast infections without PP reporting them as possible victims of sexual abuse.

Wow, I didn't think anyone had an age of consent that low.

However, even if we eliminate the juvenile aspect of the incident, it is still a clear example of someone in authority exploiting someone with no power at all--it doesn't get more clearcut than in a prison.
